So I weighed myself this morning and I was 196.8. So there goes that water weight!! I'm sure the no soda is helping too though.
So this week's goal is 2x to the gym. I didn't go today. I did work moving fixtures and I did a bit of water aerobics today so at least I got more exercise then normal.
I went to costco with my mom today and got some healthy food to snack on at home. One of my problems is I have is I like to munch on things all the time when I'm home. Usually we don't have anything I want, so I'll drive and get fast food. Hopefully this will avoid it.
I also know one of my big challenges will be emotional eating. Whenever I get bummed out, I want to eat so I have to find new ways to change that. Any ideas - other than going to the gym?
Here's to week 2 of the great Maggie weight loss experiment!
I honestly think of food as an addiction. I had an addiction. Every time I was sad, bored, happy, lonely, etc. I ate. After a few weeks of healthy eating, your body becomes more accustomed to not having all the fat and sodium, so you really do crave it less. The emotional eating is a much deeper rooted addiction and it takes more time to get over, in my opinion. Having this blog and people to talk to will give you a different outlet for those feelings. I think if you are having those emotional feelings, spending the time and energy on this blog will take away the immediate necessity of food. If that doesn't work, you find alternatives to the food you really want. If you really want pizza, instead of calling an order in, you make the decision to go to the store and make a more nutritious version. This will most likely satisfy the craving and usually any homemade version will be lower calorie/fat/sodium. Also, the lazy side often wins out and you will opt for an altogether healthier meal instead. And don't sweat the slip ups. Just pick yourself back up and keep on truckin'!
ReplyDeleteHey Mags! What are you doing while you eat? I munch like crazy when I watch TV, which is all of the time that I am home. When I am doing well and working hard not to "zombie-eat," I turn off the TV and listen to music instead, or I engross myself in an activity, like scrapbooking or organizing, that keeps my hands busy. Of course, if I am REALLY trying, I get out of the house, but that, honestly, is just not frequently enough!
ReplyDeleteGO TEAM MAGS!!!
